For sale is a vintage Rolex Day-Date Ref. 18078 from 1986, crafted in solid 18k yellow gold and distinguished by its characteristic bark-finished bezel. The Dial
The watch features a striking black dial with applied yellow gold Roman numeral hour markers, complemented by matching gold hands and a finely printed outer minute track. The signature day aperture sits at 12 o’clock, with the date positioned at 3 o’clock beneath the Cyclops lens. The deep black dial provides a sharp contrast against the warm 18k yellow gold case, giving this Day-Date a particularly elegant and distinctive appearance.

The Case
The classic 36mm Oyster case is crafted from solid 18k yellow gold and retains strong proportions with clearly defined lugs. Its standout feature is the bark-finished bezel, with its deeply textured surface creating a distinctive contrast against the brushed and polished finishes of the case.
